The Skewer is a sketch show on BBC Radio 4. It’s got an open door policy for writers. I’m one of many contributors.
It’s something of an oddity. For such a long-running, multi-awarding show, it’s tricky to explain what it actually is. I’ve seen it described as a mix between a sketch show, a concept album and a fever dream.
I’d say the best way to find out is to listen for yourself.
Here’s a sample. Selfishly, I’m going to share one of my own sketches – hey, it’s my website – the latest one I wrote (with my writing partner Owen Pullar).
With the final episode of the current series of #TheSkewer @BBCradio4 his week, a flashback to last week when #BritishGas continued to rob us all blind. Contains swears.
